Responsibilities
- Providing great customer service.
- Be able to share knowledge, stock and replenish products and help merchandise the store in a visually appealing way, all while being hyper focused on the in-store experience.
- Provide an amazing shopping experience that will encourage customers to return.
- Cover the sales floor and ensure that assigned areas are up to visual standards.
- Work the register, manage cash transactions, provide your fandom knowledge to process sales transactions and drive add-on sales.
- Communicate new trends information to management.
- Engage with customers as they enter the store to provide reassurance if they need help.
- Support the maintenance of the stock room and keep organized and tidy.
- Communicate and work as a team with your peers to help get the job done correctly.
- Completing other activities as assigned by your manager.

Responsibilities
- You’ll support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives with regards to hitting sales
- Support your Store Manager in achieving the sales plan and/or comp sales goals
- Supporting the stores marketing with creating engagement through customer engagement and social media.
- Provide leadership around running an operationally sound business; you’ll bring the right balance of ops, delegation/autonomy, and customer-first selling practices
- Keep watch on shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate schedules
- Collaboratively communicate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends & customer feedback
- Run sales reports and use data to help guide your strategy to hit sales targets
- In partnership with your Store Manager, you’ll develop your team of loyal associates that are high-performing and customer-focused

Job Summary
We’re seeking a charismatic and energetic In-Person Auctioneer to lead live auctions at our Headquarter facility. As a Whatnot Auctioneer, you’ll captivate audiences, drive engagement, and facilitate seamless transactions for a wide range of collectibles and unique items. This role combines showmanship, product knowledge, and customer interaction to create an unforgettable auction experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Live Auctions: Host engaging in-person auctions, presenting items with enthusiasm, clarity, and accuracy to drive bidding and excitement.
- Engage the Audience: Build rapport with attendees, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and repeat attendance.
- Product Presentation: Describe items (e.g., collectibles, memorabilia, or specialty goods) with detailed knowledge, highlighting key features and value to spark bidder interest.
- Manage Auction Flow: Oversee bidding processes, maintain auction pace, and ensure fair and transparent transactions in line with Whatnot’s policies.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with inventory specialists, event coordinators, and operations staff to ensure smooth event execution and accurate item cataloging.
- Customer Interaction: Address bidder questions, resolve concerns, and provide exceptional service to enhance the Whatnot community experience.
- Stay Informed: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, collectible categories, and pricing to provide credible and compelling commentary.
- Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, auction regulations, and legal requirements to ensure a trustworthy and professional auction environment.
- Daily show reports / communication with warehouse shipping team and whatnot leads about orders or DMs / keeping area clean and organized / trash / pulling items to plan for shows / nights and weekends required / reliable transportation
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in customer service, or similar role requiring live audience engagement (e.g., event hosting, public speaking, or performance).
- Knowledge of collectibles, trading cards, or specialty markets.
- Skills:
- Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills with a commanding stage presence.
- Ability to think on your feet, manage fast-paced environments, and handle unexpected situations with professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with diverse audiences and build community.
- Basic understanding of auction software or point-of-sale systems (training provided).
